My Craft Room

Welcome to my craft room! I enjoy a variety of crafts but there are a few I tend to focus on. Here you can see what I’m up to and learn about crafters who have inspired me.

What Am I Working On?

I’m currently working on my holiday cards but I have some designs from cards I made earlier this year that I will be adding to the site soon.

My Inspiration Team

I love to find folks who give me ideas to try and encouragement to step out of my comfort zone. All of these folks have YouTube channels. Here are a few of my favorites:

Maymay Made It

I discovered Maymay several years ago on YouTube and have been a fan ever since. She loves to teach and she loves to craft. Putting those two together gives great videos for a variety of crafting projects. She tends to focus on process or project with an emphasis on paper crafting but she’s been known to try new things like needlework.

PootlesPapercraft

Sam Hammond Donald is one of my favorite crafters. She is a Stampin Up demonstrator from the UK – actually she is the #1 SU demo in the UK. Sam focuses her YouTube videos on creating boxes and bags but will occasionally bring in cards or tags. Her blog has more variety and she recently began broadening her content even more.

Sam has a monthly “Cards In The Mail To Me” video that airs on YouTube the first Saturday of the month.

Cathy Zielske

Cathy Zielske brings a different vibe to her YouTube videos. She is a graphic designer by trade and a crafter by hobby and work. She designs for Simon Says Stamps.

One of the things I enjoy about her work is her willingness to step out of her comfort zone and try new things. She brings a bit of fearless abandon to her work.

Connie Stewart – Simply Simple Stamping

Connie Stewart brings a sense of fun and adventure to her videos. Her Tuesday Tip videos have changed the way I create cards. Each month she focuses on a topic and explores it every Tuesday. You might get an in depth discussion about dies or papers or you might try a different fun fold. She covers how to subjects like tying bows that make the process easier and more accessible.

Jackie Bolhuis

Jackie is another Stampin Up demonstrator who creates simple, easy cards. She creates easy projects with beautiful results with a goal that you don’t have to have a huge collection of stuff in your craft closet to create beautiful cards.

Lisa Curcio – Lisa’s Stamp Studio

Lisa Curcio is another Stampin Up demonstrator who brings a different style to her videos. She does a weekly live video with a replay that follows and includes a free project sheet with all the information you need to create the cards.

Call Me (Crafty) Al

When I discovered Crafty Al my card making shifted dramatically. Al (aka: Alicia) publishes a Sheetload each month.

What is a Sheetload you ask? A sheetload is a card design that includes all the measurements and instructions to create a set of cards from one or two pieces of cardstock or designer series paper plus decorations. The set can vary depending upon the design.

The sheetload is actually free if you are a subscriber to Al’s YouTube channel. All the information is in the video description box. On the first of every month is the reveal of the month’s sheetload with an overview of the sketch, the walk through uploads on the second of the month with follow up videos of the same project by the various design team members and subscribers.

The designs vary from month to month and you are encouraged to use what is in your stash and your imagination, so the field is wide open.

Check out her YouTube channel by typing “Call Me (Crafty) Al” in the search box.
